Are Méa Via's ingredients natural?
Cosmetic ingredients are usually categorized into 3 different classifications ofnatural. There is plant-derived, mineral-based and animal derived. In all of our formulations, we only use plant-derived and mineral-based ingredients. Plant-derived ingredients include botanical extracts and oils from flowers, herbs and fruits. Mineral-based ingredients are those that are derived from ground mineral such as mica, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Ingredients that we do not use in our formulations are those that are animal-derived such as beeswax, honey, milk or goatmilk. Animal-derived ingredients are not evil, but it is simply a choice that we took to minimize our everyday impact on animals.
How natural are our ingredients?
In a world of natural ingredients, there are 3 different varying levels. Natural substances, naturally derived substances and naturally synthetic substances. Natural substances exists in nature without human intervention or alteration. Examples are oxygen in the air, water, whole plants and more. Naturally derived substances originate from a natural source and have undergone processing, extraction and purification from its natural source. Examples are plant-based oils like olive oil, essential oils, fruit powders and botanical extracts. Naturally synthetic substances are artificially created in a lab by humans but are chemically identical to a substance found in nature. They are usually synthesized from simpler chemical building blocks such as Vitamin C and fragrance oils. Naturally synthetic substances are usually made because it makes the substance more stable or to find the existing natural source is rare, hard or to produce such a substance from its natural sources is not sustainable.
At Méa Via, we use a blend of naturally derived and naturally synthetic ingredients. We find that using these ingredients in amounts that complement each other brings out the best qualities and benefits for our skin!
Is there harmful chemicals?
We always try to source the safest and highest quality of ingredients. But sometimes, some people have extra sensitive skin and allergies to certain ingredients, even natural ones such as essential oils. If you do have a certain allergy, let us know and we can advise you which ones are better suited for you!
We also do not use ingredients that have sulphates (SLS, SLES, etc), parabens and phthalates in our formulations.
How to keep and store the bars?
When using our bars, it is best to use a soap dish, or soap net that has holes so water can drain from it! If you want to keep our bars still wrapped in a room or in between clothes for around 2 months as a room scent then use it as a cleansing bar after, you can! As soon as it touches the water, the scent will resurface.
We recommend keeping them in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight, in room temperature. Do not keep it in a refridgerator.
Where are Méa Via's products manufactured?
Our products are manufactured in our production workshop in Jakarta, Indonesia. We are a small home industry led by a mother and daughter.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated based on your location and the weight of the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price before you purchase.
Indonesia
Shipping throughout Indonesia will be done with couriers: JNE, SiCepat. For orders above Rp. 500,000 IDR, we provide free shipping up to Rp. 30,000 IDR.
Singapore
Shipping to Singapore will be done with courier, Rayspeed. Shipping to SIngapore costs $4.50 SGD per 1 kg for the package. For orders above $50 SGD, we provide free shipping!
